Alianza Futurista is a Spanish political party, founded in 2013, that practises compassionate futurism: putting technology at the service of reducing the suffering of all sentient beings. We promote the democratisation of technological abundance, indefinite longevity, and both individual and collective security.

Sergio M.L. Tarrero has written, directed and produced Longevity Day, a 12-minute short film that pays tribute to the activists, scientists, investors, founders and organizations working towards a world in which aging is no longer a one-way street. The film tells the story of a biologist who becomes the first person to experience biological rejuvenation firsthand, and aims to make the audience feel that something like this could one day happen to all of us. It also forms part of Alianza Futurista’s sponsorship of the International Longevity Summit, organized by José Luis Cordeiro in Madrid every year around October 1st, International Longevity Day.

Sergio has also produced two trailers, with their respective treatments, for two feature films he submitted to the Future Vision XPRIZE. Both stories unfold in the same fictional universe: an optimistic yet plausible near future in which artificial intelligence—and the decisions humanity makes about it—plays an essential role.
LONGEVITY DAY, the feature, expands the story of the short film above. Maxima Vita, aged 88, with cancer and her memory working against her, fights to restart AI-assisted rejuvenation research three years after a catastrophic failure of a secret military AI nearly convinced the world to abandon frontier research altogether. Beside her is Carmen Vidal, a young biologist whose mother lies in cryopreservation and who asks not whether a longer life is possible, but whether the future will be worth it.
SLEEPER, set decades later in that same future, tells the story of Elena, a woman cryopreserved in our own time and revived in a world that learned to collaborate with intelligences beyond the human. An intimate drama about loss, reunion, and the question of whether the future can give back what time took from us. Elena is Carmen’s mother.

On August 10, 2026, Alianza Futurista took the next step in its institutional initiative, moving from letters to formal action. Following the European Parliament’s reply of July 20, we filed 21 formal petitions in Spain while also advancing new proposals on international governance of frontier AI, existential risk and democratic cooperation.
One of those formal petitions was filed with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, concerning Spain’s position at the United Nations on binding international governance of frontier AI, existential risks and cooperation among democracies. We also submitted a written contribution to the new United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance and sent a detailed follow-up to the European Parliament regarding issues we consider unresolved following its July reply.
In parallel, we filed twenty formal petitions seeking a legal framework for human cryopreservation in Spain: one with each of Spain’s 17 autonomous communities, Ceuta and Melilla, and one with the Government of Spain. The petitions were filed under Article 29 of the Spanish Constitution and Organic Law 4/2001 on the Right of Petition. We will publish the replies we receive and publicly track their progress.

On July 6, 2026, we sent three institutional letters: to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres (original in English); to the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola (original in English); and to the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez (English translation | original in Spanish). We also sent copies to other relevant institutions and organisations. Any responses we receive will be published here. You can subscribe to our Mailing List to be notified when responses are posted, as well as of any other important news.
The European Parliament replied on July 20, 2026. After reviewing its reply, on August 10 we sent a detailed follow-up to the European Parliament addressing issues we consider still unresolved.

The 2025 Longevity March went very well. The figure of the Grim Reaper made an appearance, representing Death, and attendees enjoyed symbolically fighting against it, in the spirit of The Death of Death, the book by José Cordeiro and David Wood. Juan Llopis gave a short speech about Alianza Futurista in front of the Spanish Parliament. Here is the video:
